The 117-room Mining Exchange,
a Wyndham Grand Hotel, has opened 57 of its rooms in what was once the local stock exchange. A $30 million renovation continues at the adjacent Independence and Freeman-Telegraph buildings, which will provide 60 more rooms. When all areas are finished, the property will have 10,000 square feet of meeting space; a spa will open by the end of this summer.
The Colorado Springs U.S. Olympic Training Center

A two-year, $60 million renovation is under way at the 744-room Broadmoor
in Colorado Springs, Colo. The 21 guest rooms in the Southlake building already have been redone, as has the 6,300-square-foot Cheyenne Lodge conference space. More work is slated to finish in April 2013, including the rebuilding of the Tavern's Garden Room; an expansion of the Golden Bee pub; and the addition of an activity center in Broadmoor West, with bowling lanes, billiards and food outlets. A third phase should be completed in April 2014, with the redesign of the West Lobby Bar, the addition of a new Italian restaurant and the expansion of the 154 rooms and baths in Broadmoor West.
