The Outrigger Enterprises Group has announced a $100 million revitalization project for the 635-room Outrigger Reef on the Beach in Waikiki. The project will create a 34,000-square-foot recreation space with swimming pools, landscaped lounging areas and open-air dining facilities, in addition to a new 200-room tower. Construction is set to begin in 2017, with completion slated for 2019. The property currently has more than 2,500 square feet of function space, a spa, an activities center, and a newly renovated swimming pool and deck.

On Oahu's North Shore, the 452-room Turtle Bay Resort recently wrapped up a multimillion-dollar upgrade that included enhancements to all standard and premium guest rooms. The property also revamped two restaurants and opened the new Nalu Kinetic Spa. Indoor function space spans 25,500 square feet.

The 528-room Royal Hawaiian, a Luxury Collection Resort, recently opened a new 6,000-square-foot outdoor meeting space called the Gardens at Helumoa. The venue is near the resort's signature Mai Tai Bar. In all, the property offers 12,000 square feet for indoor meetings and an additional 66,000 square feet for outdoor events.

All 645 guest rooms at the Aston Waikiki Beach Hotel have been refreshed. The property features complimentary Wi-Fi throughout, a restaurant and nearly 3,000 square feet of function space.

The Waikiki Joy Hotel is now the 96-room Aqua Oasis and is part of the Aqua Hotels and Resorts brand. The property underwent $2.5 million in renovations and now sports redesigned guest rooms, common areas and exterior landscaping. The hotel does not have meeting space but does offer group rates for blocks of more than 10 rooms.
