Local Update

• The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City will debut in May 2018. The former 2,010-room Trump Taj Mahal Casino Hotel, purchased by Hard Rock International from Carl Icahn, currently is undergoing a head-to-toe renovation.

• The Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa has unveiled its new 18,000-square-foot Central Conference Center, bringing the 2,000-room property's total meeting space to 106,000 square feet. Also new on-site is the Angeline restaurant from celebrity chef Michael Symon. 

• The 942-room Resorts Casino Hotel has recently expanded its gaming offerings with the addition of 22 new slot games on the Margaritaville Casino floor. The resort recently expanded its meeting facilities, which now include a 15,000-square-foot conference space and 12 meeting rooms. In all, the hotel has 24 function rooms with more than 64,000 square feet for events.

• The CEOs of two rival gaming giants -- MGM Resorts International and Caesars Entertainment Corp. -- appeared at a recent news conference with New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, who teased attendees about a possible joint venture. Stay tuned.
