Local Update

 A $55 million, eight-month renovation of the newly rebranded, 563-room Prince Waikiki is complete. The former Hawaii Prince Hotel Waikiki and Golf Club also upgraded all of its meeting and event space.

The 1,000-room Sheraton Princess Kaiulani is undergoing a $5 million refresh that includes upgrades to the guest rooms, WiFi and more.

 A $115 million renovation will wrap up this month at the former 839-room Pacific Beach Hotel, Waikiki, now the Alohilani Resort Waikiki Beach. New features include a 280,000-gallon lobby oceanarium, two pools and two restaurants -- the Momosan and Morimoto Asia.

A $60 million overhaul has turned the former Aqua Wave Waikiki into the 251-room Laylow, Oahu's first Marriott-flagged Autograph Collection Hotel. New details include a rooftop restaurant and a garden lanai with a fire pit.

A $20 million facelift has been completed at the 79-room Moana Surfrider, a Westin Resort & Spa, Waikiki Beach. Along with refreshed guest rooms and a stylish new Beach Club, the property also has a 10,782-square-foot conference area and new meeting venues.

A new luxury-style hotel has opened within the 3,400-room Hilton Hawaiian Village Waikiki Beach Resort. The 405-room Ali'i Tower offers its own front desk, concierge, fitness center and priority seating at the resort's 20 restaurants and bars.
