PITTSBURGH

Local Update

The Ace Hotel Pittsburgh opened last month in a century-old building in East Liberty that once housed the YMCA. The five-story, 63-room boutique property caters to locals as well as guests and groups, offering gathering spaces such as a ballroom; lobby coffee and libation bars; meeting rooms; and Whitfield, a tavern-style restaurant.

Construction wrapped up last month on the 225-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Pittsburgh - Downtown. The property officially joins the Hilton portfolio in March 2016. Within walking distance of the convention center, the hotel occupies the top 10 floors of the historic Henry W. Oliver building. The 25th floor Sky Lobby will offer views of Downtown Pittsburgh. A restaurant, a bar, a business center, a health club and an indoor pool will be on-site as well, along with meeting space for up to 150 people.

The 135-room Hotel Indigo Pittsburgh East End debuted in October, in the city's revitalized East Liberty neighborhood. The boutique hotel has a residential feel, with oversized beds and hardwood floors. A restaurant and lounge are on-site.
