The Reno-Tahoe area is a destination with wide-ranging options, offering both a city with gaming resorts and a gorgeous natural backdrop replete with year-round outdoor activities. What's more, Reno has upped the ante on its meetings infrastructure through a deal with SMG, which is now managing four major conference facilities in town, including the 600,000-square-foot Reno-Sparks Convention Center.

Recent Additions in Reno-Tahoe Meeting Venues

• The Nugget Event Center debuted this summer, a new entertainment amphitheater across from the Nugget Casino Resort. The 8,958-seat venue can be found on the site formerly occupied by the Bourbon Square Casino. The 1,600-room Nugget Casino Resort itself is in the midst of a $10 million renovation, transforming the look of guest rooms in the former East Tower, now known as the Casino Tower. The floor-by-floor update should be completed by the end of the year.

• The Jesse Hotel & Bar, a six-suite boutique property, debuted in June in Reno's Brewery District. The intimate hotel makes the most of its location in a historic building, with original hardwood floors and floor-to-ceiling windows in every room. A hip taco and mezcal restaurant, Estella, is now open on-site and can provide catering for events at the Jesse.
