The city' Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center is set to undergo a $325 million expansion that will increase its contiguous exhibit space to more than 500,000 square feet by 2016. The project also will create more breakout space, including a 50,000-square-foot ballroom. The convention center will remain open during construction.

The 485-room Hilton Palacio Del Rio recently completed a $34 million renovation of its guest rooms. The property currently is refurbishing its 27,000 square feet of meeting space, with work set to finish by September.

The 165-room Éilan Hotel Resort & Spa opened in San Antonio' Hill Country earlier this year. The property is part of Éilan, a 120-acre mixed-used development that includes residences and retail outlets. The resort features six private gardens and more than 25,000 square feet of meeting space.

The 632-room Hyatt Regency San Antonio last year underwent a $30 million renovation of its guest rooms, public spaces, and 40,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

In May, SeaWorld San Antonio opened Aquatica, an 18-acre aquatic park featuring up-close animal experiences and raft rides as well as several pools and beaches. A special pool is provided for visitors to wade among stingrays.
