Local Update

The 320-room Luhrs City Center Marriott currently is under construction in the downtown district. It will house two brands: a Courtyard by Marriott and a Residence Inn by Marriott, which will share a lobby and other amenities, including a fourth-floor pool. The complex was slated to debut in 2016; at press time, a new completion date had not been announced.

The 105-room Found:Re Phoenix has opened. The downtown property is a transformation of the former Lexington Hotel and houses an extensive art collection featuring contemporary works in various mediums by local artists. The hotel has five meeting spaces and a farm-to-table restaurant, Match Cuisine & Cocktails. Among the property's more unique features: Guest rooms have phones programmed with mystery speed-dial numbers that could connect to a daily horoscope, riddle or interactive experience.

The 183-room Mountain Shadows resort is set to open this winter on the site of the former Marriott Mountain Shadows Resort, which had been closed since 2004 and demolished in 2014. This new boutique luxury property will include 31 hotel-condominium units, a lounge, restaurants, a market and a fitness facility. For meetings and events, the resort will offer 12,500 square feet of indoor space and another 25,000 square feet for outdoor gatherings. In addition, the project includes a redesign of the neighboring Mountain Shadows Golf Club.
