Local Update
The 159-room Hotel VIA will open this spring in the South Beach neighborhood, across from AT&T Park, and is currently taking reservations for July 1 and onward. The chic, eclectic boutique hotel promises that no two guest rooms on each floor will be alike. Also in the plans are a 3,000-square-foot rooftop lounge with indoor and outdoor event space, a breakfast café, a meeting room and a fitness center.
To commemorate its 30th anniversary, the landmark Hotel Nikko San Francisco reopened in March following a three-month, $60 million renovation. The Union Square-area hotel refreshed 405 of its 533 guest rooms and upgraded the lobby and public areas, meeting spaces, and overall infrastructure and technology. The 6,652-square-foot ballroom on the third floor has been completely revamped, while the 20 meeting rooms on the 25th floor sport A/V upgrades  and offer views of the Bay. Also open is the signature restaurant, Anzu.
