Downtown debut. The Radisson Blu Minneapolis (left), a complete transformation of the 1909 Radisson Plaza Hotel Minneapolis, has opened with 360 guest rooms, the Business Class by Radisson Lounge, the Firelake Grill House and 29,000 square feet of meeting space. The hotel is a short walk from the Minneapolis Convention Center.

More Debuts 
 The 150-room Embassy Suites by Hilton Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic, opened in late June. Near Las Americas International Airport, the hotel has a rooftop fitness center, an outdoor pool and a stylish lobby bar. Meetings take place in 22,500 square foot of indoor space, including two ballrooms, and more than 4,000 square feet of outdoor space.

 Set to open at the end of this month, weeks ahead of schedule, is the 1,600-room SLS Las Vegas Hotel & Casino. The newest resort to open on the Strip in five years, the property comprises three towers and has three nightclubs (including a 20,000-square-foot venue called Life), nine restaurants and 80,000 square feet of meeting space.

 In Maui, Hawaii, the 50-suite Montage Kapalua Bay has opened with 50 suites, each with its own large lanai overlooking the Pacific Ocean and neighboring islands. For dining, the hotel offers Cane & Canoe, designed like a traditional Hawaiian canoe house and serving local fare, as well as the poolside Sunset Patio. Groups can meet in the 2,000-square-foot glass Sunset Room and on five oceanview event lawns.  

 The 376-room Wyndham Anaheim Garden Grove has opened within a short drive from Southern California attractions such as the Disneyland Resort and some of the area's popular beaches. The property features a 1,500-square-foot fitness center, a pool and hot tub with private cabanas, and 36,000 square feet of flexible meeting space.
