Universal appeal. The 1,000-room, Caribbean-themed Loews Sapphire Falls Resort has opened at Universal Orlando, with amenities like a pool with a water slide and three on-site dining options. Meeting space totals 115,000 square feet and includes a 41,000-square-foot ballroom and 11,000 square feet of outdoor event space.

More Debuts
 The 171-room Archer Hotel Austin has opened just steps from the Texas city's colorful Rock Rose dining and entertainment district. Guest rooms feature canopy beds, large free-standing soaking tubs and sliding glass doors that create a variety of indoor/outdoor spaces, including terraces with fireplaces. Dining takes place in the Second Bar + Kitchen under the direction of acclaimed chef David Bull. The property's more than 16,500 square feet of meeting space includes 6,600 square feet indoors, a 2,500-square-foot second-floor terrace and a 5,000-square-foot pool deck. With all indoor and outdoor space combined, the Archer can accommodate events of up to 850 people.

 The 275-room Atton Brickell Miami Hotel has opened in the Florida city's Brickell Financial District, the first Atton property to open in the U.S. for the Latin American hotel chain. Features include 4,000 square feet of meeting space, a rooftop pool with cabanas, a state-of-the-art fitness center, the lobby-level Uva bar and Lima, a full-service restaurant that serves a blend of traditional Peruvian dishes.

•  The 222-room Sheraton Georgetown Texas Hotel & Conference Center has opened with a heated outdoor pool and easy access to activities on and around the San Gabriel River just outside. The hotel's conference center can host up to 1,200 people in 30,000 square feet of meeting space, including a 16,000-square-foot ballroom and four breakout rooms. The property anchors Georgetown's new upscale Summit at Rivery Park entertainment district.
