A PARK WHERE YOU CAN GO APE
Nestled in the heart of downtown Indy, White River State Park offers 250 acres of green space and attractions. Here you can take a stroll along Central Canal Walk, stop by the Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, catch an open-air concert at The Lawn amphitheater, watch an Indianapolis Indians minor-league baseball game at Victory Field and/or commune with orangutans at the Indianapolis Zoo.

FOR PEDAL PUSHERS
Named a top-15 biking city by Bicycling magazine, Indy's bike paths and flat terrain are a breeze. The Indianapolis Cultural Trail connects more than 80 miles of greenways and runs right by the Indianapolis Convention Center.

WEAR YOUR ASBESTOS BIB
Since 1902, the St. Elmo Steak House has offered posh private dining, celebrity sightings and the state's largest wine cellar to complement the fine steaks, seafood and service. The Travel Channel  has named the eatery's shrimp cocktail "the spiciest dish in the world," thanks to the sizzling house-made horseradish (for sale by the bottle).

THE FAST TRACK
While the famed Indy 500 takes place this May 28, car-racing fans will find year-round fun at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway, including a roster of other races. Thrill-seekers can take a ride in a real race car going up to 180 mph via the Indy Racing Experience.
