The Emirates Palace Hotel’s palm-and-fountain approachIn April, this capital of the United Arab Emirates hosted Reed’s second annual Gulf Incentive, Business Travel & Meetings Exhibition (GIBTM). The show was held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, part of which is still being built. When complete, the center will have 11 exhibition halls, totaling 180,000 square feet of exhibit space.

Host hotels for GIBTM included the 110-room Al Raha Beach Hotel, a breezy property at which the show’s gala evening was held, and Kempinski’s 394-room Emirates Palace, a sprawling, gilt affair that still manages to feel welcoming. The Al Raha has 13,778 square feet of space for meetings, while the Emirates Palace offers 75,347 square feet.
