Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel is expanding.By early 2010, finding meeting space at Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa should be easier. A 2.5-acre expansion, which will add 200 rooms and 50 vacation villas, broke ground this past January. Once completed in 2009, 945 units, a new rooftop deck for viewing fireworks and a new swimming pool will be available to guests.

Meanwhile, Disney’s California Adventure Park, adjacent to the hotel, is gearing up for a remodeling as well. In 2009, the park’s entrance will be redesigned to recall 1920s Los Angeles as Walt Disney himself first viewed it; and in 2010, the nighttime show, “Disney’s World of Color,” will open with a 9,000-seat viewing area that can be rented out for private events.
