The Colombian capital sits high in the Andes, 8,200 feet above sea level. Though close to the equator, the city has a pleasant, seasonless climate that always hovers between 50 and 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
Hosting the Best Cities Global Forum, which took place this past December, the city showed off its sparkling-new Agora Bogota convention center, with its 18 meeting spaces spread over five stories. The venue plans to open its own 411-room hotel, which will be connected by a pedestrian passageway.

Forum participants learned how to tap the "power of people" in their organizations through a slate of sessions. The group stayed in one of the city's newest properties, the 372-room Grand Hyatt Bogota, which has nearly 25,000 square feet of meeting space.
