A visit to the 37,000-acre Resort at Paws Up shows it is possible to get away to the wilderness without sacrificing creature comforts.
The 58-"room" property actually is made up of fully equipped one-, two- and three-bedroom houses, as well as six glamping villages open in the warm months, each with its own dining pavilion.
While Paws Up has a number of fun gathering spots, like the 4,536-square-foot Bull Barn, the draw is the variety of activities available, winter or summer. Snowshoeing, snowmobiling and horseback riding in the snow are among the cold-weather fun. Fishing, go-karting, sporting clays, hiking and more fill out the summer hours.
A new adults only area, with 12 one-bedroom houses and its own bar and restaurant, will open in 2020.
