Glass office towers, residential enclaves and winding waterways have sprung up on Jersey City's eastern shore over the past decade. A great perch from which to take it all in is MaritimeParc (, a beautifully water-themed restaurant from chef/owner Chris Siversen. The second-floor Sky Room can host 500 for dinner or 700 for a reception; one floor up, the Aviary holds up to 300. Both feature gorgeous terrace views of lower Manhattan.

Among nearby hotels is the Hyatt Regency Jersey City on the Hudson (, with 350 rooms, including seven suites, plus more than 20,000 square feet of meeting space.
