Perched atop the tallest building in the Western Hemisphere, the newly opened One World Observatory at One World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan is a trip -- literally.

As you ascend to the 102nd floor in 47 seconds, a time-lapse display plays on the elevator's LED walls, showing the city sprouting from its original wild state to the present, until suddenly you're looking out at the world from 1,250 feet above street level.

Attractions on-site include One Dine for gourmet cuisine; the City Pulse, which showcases NYC history and culture via interactive HD monitors; the Sky Portal, a 14-foot-wide disc that offers real-time views of the streets below, and more.
