 On Their Marks. Oct. 6 will see the running of the 33rd annual Milwaukee Lakefront Marathon, starting at 7:30 a.m. at a local high school and finishing on the shores of Lake Michigan.  Shine On. A lighthouse in the Midwest? Indeed, the North Point Lighthouse in Lake Park guided sailors on Lake Michigan from 1888 until 1994. The tower and keeper's house were restored in recent years; an on-site museum offers an array of artifacts relating to Great Lakes history.

 Best Wurst. Usinger's has been making German-style sausage from a family recipe since 1880. The store on Old World Third Street is filled with gifts for the brat lover.
