To re-create Heirloom LA's gorgeous crostini platter, "think of making a flower arrangement, but with food," says owner Tara Maxey. "There is a focal point or two, and you build from that thinking about color and texture to make it all work together in a visually interesting way. The most humble vegetables can take on a new dimension just by how they are cut and placed on a platter."
