The Bookstore Bar & Café at the Alexis Hotel in Seattle serves up this summer-ready version of a whiskey and cola:

1 ounce barrel strength whiskey (such as Jack Daniels barrel strength)
1 ounce cherry brandy
Cola
Cherries, for garnish

Fill a Collins glass with crushed ice. Add the liquors, top with cola, stir with a straw and garnish with cherries.
