At Carmel Valley Ranch in Northern California, groups can suit up for a unique beekeeping experience inside the resort's apiary, which holds some 60,000 Italian honey bees. Participants learn about the bees' role in nature and how a colony can share surprising similarities to teams back at the office. The resort can provide a bee theme throughout the group's stay, such as a lavender and honey lemonade at check in, a honey tasting directly from the hive and travel-size lavender beeswax balm as a take-home.
