San Francisco's Pier 48, a repurposed warehouse space that can accommodate 7,000 guests, was given a circus-themed makeover for Meeting Professionals International's World Education Congress in August. The festive atmosphere was created by a roving band of clowns (the TrashKan Marchink Band), a carousel-themed bar, high-flying acrobats hanging from the ceiling and old-time carnival décor.
