WeatherMid-May to mid-October is generally cool and often drizzly and overcast, but it's our favorite time to visit. Because of the moisture, the countryside is incredibly green, and the mist, fog and rain give it a distinctive, somewhat eerie atmosphere that's part of Northern Ireland's appeal. When it's raining a light drizzle, the locals will often say it's a "soft day." Take along—or plan on immediately buying—some warm sweaters and a collapsible umbrella.
