Glasgow's weather can be described as changeable at best and unpredictable at worst. There's a chance of rain whenever you visit, so be sure you arrive prepared. In winter, the climate can be very harsh, and the short days (it gets dark by 4 pm) do little to alleviate the chill that seems to surround the city. Temperatures average 30 to 48 F/-1 to 9 C.
The summer, however, is a different story. Temperatures get up to 54-70 F/12-21 C, and the days during June and July are long and occasionally balmy. This is by far the best time to visit Glasgow—not only for the weather but also for the festivals and extended hours held by many attractions.
