The best times to visit San Antonio are spring and fall, when temperatures average in the 80s F/27-32 C. Those not used to high temperatures may find that summer requires a little getting used to—though not as muggy as Houston, San Antonio can take on a saunalike quality in the dog days, and the sun is intense. (June-August, the average high is about 95 F/35 C.) Fortunately, air-conditioning is all but omnipresent—and slowing your pace to match that of the residents will help.
Expect the most precipitation in spring and fall (though some summers can be wet, too), usually in the form of brief but intense thundershowers. In winter, the temperature rarely drops below freezing.
