Weather
Year-round ideal weather is a prime selling point for Sedona tourism. The summers are hot and dry, except for monsoon season. Winters are mild with cooler nights. Average high temperatures top out at 95 F/35 C in July and dip to daytime temperatures in the mid-50s F/low teens C in January. Lows range from 31 F/-1 C in January to 66 F/19 C in July. The average yearly precipitation is only 16.6 in/42 cm, most of it rain, which falls heavily most afternoons during July and August.
The best time to visit is March-May when the temperatures are warm, and the desert flowers are in bloom. September-November is also great for mild weather. June-August is the height of summer, but visitors from other parts of Arizona visit during this time for the slightly lower temperatures in Sedona versus the rest of the state. December-February is slow season with typically less expensive hotel rates.
