Seville has a nearly ideal climate. Spring and autumn are moderate, with average temperatures around 68 degrees F/20 degrees C. Spring is also when the city celebrates its most important festivals, making it the preferred time to visit. On top of that, the scent of azahar
(orange blossoms) fills the air in March. Autumn is also a good time to visit.
January is usually the coldest month, when daytime temperatures steady out at about 40 degrees F/5 degrees C. July is generally the hottest month with an average daytime high of 95 degrees F/35 degrees C. However, temperatures as hot as 113 degrees F/45 degrees C are not unprecedented. Summers are dry with hardly any rain. The rain usually comes between October and April; December is the rainiest month. Even though it doesn't rain often (about 50 days in a year), when it does rain, it usually comes in the form of a strong and steady downpour.
