Air Berlin announced Tuesday that the carrier intends to become a full member of the oneworld Alliance in 2012, and that it has already reached code-share agreements with American Airlines and Finnair. Air Berlin will offer tickets as of November this year for 15 additional U.S. cities and two in the Bahamas via the American Airlines code share. The agreement with Finnair will allow the carrier to sell tickets to Helsinki and to additional flights within Europe and to Asia. Air Berlin may also join a transatlantic joint venture already consisting of American Airlines, British Airways, Iberia, Finnair and Royal Jordanian.
