Update: Air Canada Strike Averted

Talks between Air Canada and its flight attendants' union, the Canadian Union for Public Employees, broke down Monday, making a strike at the airline, beginning today, a strong possibility. A  statement posted on the carrier’s website said, “Air Canada has received a strike notice from the Canadian Union of Public Employees, which represents the airline’s 6,800 flight attendants, confirming the union’s intention to begin a strike at 12:01 a.m. EDT Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2011.” Passengers can go to for the latest updates on the strike.
