German carrier Airberlin will join the Oneworld Alliance as of March 20, the airline announced last week after sponsoring member British Airways wrapped up a review of Airberlin's readiness. The addition of Europe's sixth largest airline will result in nearly 70 new destinations being added to the Oneworld roster. The airline will be based out of Berlin's new Brandenburg Airport when it opens in June, where it will share lounges and other facilities with its Oneworld partners.
