Unite, the union that represents British Airways crew members, has planned four strikes for May 18-22, May 24-28, May 30-June 3 and June 5-9. British Airways is finalizing flight schedules for those periods and has temporarily stopped selling seats on all flights to and from London Heathrow between May 18 and June 9. In a statement posted on its website, the carrier said, "If the strike does go ahead, not all our flights will be canceled. We plan to operate all flights to and from London City and London Gatwick. At Heathrow, we plan to operate a substantial part of our long-haul schedule, and there will be a number of flights to every destination across our short-haul network." Updates on flight status will be posted at britishairways.com. The airline and the union continue to negotiate the terms of a revised pay plan.
