American Airlines will begin daily service between Rhode Island's T.F. Green International Airport and Chicago O'Hare International Airport on April 5, 2016. The two daily flights will be aboard 63-seat CRJ-700 regional jets. The American flights bring back service that once was offered by US Airways. Tickets go on sale Saturday, Dec. 12, the airline said.

"We are pleased with the return of PVD to ORD service," said Kelly Fredericks, president and CEO of the Rhode Island Airport Corp. "This key Midwestern hub is a significant addition for business and leisure travelers alike."

American joins Delta, JetBlue, United and Southwest airlines in serving the Rhode Island market.
