United Airlines has announced the launch of daily nonstop service from its two largest hub airports, Chicago and Houston, to Atlantic City International Airport. The United flights will begin in April. At a press conference held last week to announce the move, New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie said, "The decision to bring air service to the seaside resort opens Atlantic City and Atlantic City International to the world while expanding travel service opportunities for the people of the South Jersey region." Currently, the only large carrier serving the airport is Spirit Airlines.
