 A National Business Travel Association report predicts that business travel spending originating in the U.S. will grow 3.8 percent this year vs. last, and will continue to improve through 2012. According to the "Business Travel Quarterly Outlook - United States," a new forecast developed by the NBTA Foundation and sponsored by Visa, spending will increase by 6.7 percent in 2011 and grow by another 6.9 percent in 2012. According to a new measurement debuted in the forecast -- the Business Travel Index -- the level of business travel in 2012 is expected to match the industry's previous peak, in 2007. The industry's low point occurred in late 2009.
