The National Business Travel Association announced Wednesday the launch of NBTA Europe, a multinational network of European business travel professionals. Participating in NBTA Europe are seven partner associations, which include the Danish Business Travel Association, the Iberian Business Travel Association of Spain, the Institute of Travel & Meetings of the UK and Ireland, NBTA, Nederlandse Associatie voor Travel Management, the Norwegian Business Travel Association and the Swedish Business Travel Association. Members of these organizations will automatically be members of NBTA Europe for the network's first year. The network's operations will be managed by ITM on behalf of NBTA; leadership will consist of a combination of a buyer-led Advisory Board and a Partnership Council, with each association retaining a seat. Former ITM chair Caroline Strachan, global category leader for business travel at Astra Zeneca in the U.K., has been named chairman of NBTA Europe; board members will be announced in the coming weeks. ITM CEO Paul Tilstone will serve as managing director of the network.
