According to preliminary estimates, 22.9 million visitors came to Florida in the third quarter of 2013, the largest third quarter for visitation in the state's history and an increase of 1.7 percent over the same period in 2012. Through the first three quarters of 2013, Florida saw 72.6 million visitors -- an increase of 3.4 percent over the same period last year, and visitor spending in Florida through August totaled $51.8 billion, a year-over-year increase of 5.8 percent.
