George Fertitta, who has helmed NYC & Company, the Big Apple's convention & visitors bureau, since 2006, will leave his post Jan. 1. The former ad executive will join a new organization formed by New York City's outgoing Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to consult local governments on issues including tourism. Fred Dixon, NYC & Company's executive vice president for market development, has been named interim president & CEO of the organization.
