This week, Karen Bolinger became the CEO of the Melbourne(Australia) Convention + Visitors Bureau. Serving most recently as an executive for the Royal Agricutlural Society of New South Wales, Bolinger also has served as general manager for Australia's Sydney Convention and Visitors Bureau. The MCVB’s chairman, Chris Barlow, said Bolinger joins the bureau at a fortuitous time. “MCVB’s results in the first quarter of the 2011/12 financial year have been exceptional,” he said. “As of September 2011, the number of business events secured by MCVB was standing at 200 percent of our first-quarter target, while expected delegate numbers and economic impact were at 149 percent and 176 percent, respectively."
