New York City welcomed a record 56.4 million visitors -- including 6.1 million meeting delegates, also the most ever -- last year, according to NYC & Company and New York City Mayor Bill De Blasio. Both totals surpass the previous record, set in 2013, when the Big Apple hosted 54.3 million visitors, including 5.9 million attendees. The travelers generated a record $61.3 billion in overall economic impact, supporting 359,000 tourism-related jobs and $21 billion in wages.
