Following last week's vote to part ways with president and CEO Chris Baum, the Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority Board of Directors has named Jennifer Cunningham as the interim managing director. Cunningham has been executive director of marketing for the RSCVA since 2010. She will oversee the day-to-day operations of the organization during the search for a new head executive, and work with board chair Bob Lucey on the development of a new, five-year strategic plan.
"I'm honored by the board's confidence in my capacity to lead the RSCVA through its most current evolution," said Cunningham. "I look forward to working with our partners to help promote and improve the perception of Reno Tahoe, and to ensure our tourism endeavors are persuasive and impactful."

Cunningham also was director of tourism sales for the RSCVA from 1987-1996, and held top sales and marketing positions after that with the Silver Legacy Resort Casino and Circus Circus Reno, respectively. The RSCVA board voted as well to begin the request for quotation process of finding a search firm to assist with the CEO replacement.
