The Reno-Sparks Convention and Visitors Authority in Nevada has named Phil DeLone its new president and CEO. DeLone currently is the CEO of Safari Club International, a 55,000-member organization that protects hunters' rights and promotes wildlife conservation. Among his responsibilities at SCI are government affairs, marketing, communication, human resources, conventions and meetings, and land and facilities management. He has been CEO of the organization since 2012.

Before going to SCI, DeLone spent 20 years amassing executive sales and management experience in the Reno hotel market. He has a total of more than 35 years of experience in tourism, sales, marketing and management.

The RSCVA has been searching for a new president and CEO for more than a year, following the decision in October 2015 to part ways with CEO Chris Baum. Jennifer Cunningham, the organization's executive director of marketing, has been serving as interim managing director. A starting date for DeLone has yet to be determined.
