The San Jose (Calif.) City Council has decided to renew its contract with Team San Jose, the city's destination marketing organization. The City Council and Team San Jose, which manages San Jose's convention center and multiple theaters downtown, are expected to complete negotiations on the contract by the first quarter of 2013. "Our downtown convention center and theaters are important to the people of our community, both as economic drivers and as contributors to our cultural vitality," said Debra Figone, San Jose City Manager in a statement. "With strong management now in place, new and competitive facilities, and a flexible and innovative business model, we're already realizing benefits that will grow with future economic and fiscal trends."
