The Los Angeles Tourism and Convention Board launched Virtual Discovery L.A. today at IMEX America in Las Vegas. The virtual reality platform, developed in partnership with XplorIt, includes immersive 360-degree experiences for more than 50 L.A. venues.

Each experience is tailored for planners who are scouting potential locations for their meetings, receptions or events. Venues such as L.A. Live, Walt Disney Concert Hall, Getty Center, the Studios at Paramount, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, Petersen Automotive Museum and L.A. Memorial Coliseum are among those represented. Along with video vignettes, specs such as capacities and square footage can easily be accessed on the platform.

Planners can view the new platform directly on a smartphone, desktop computer or tablet, or with a virtual-reality viewer such as Google Cardboard. The VR experiences also will be available via the free MeetL.A. app, which will debut in early November. Virtual Discover L.A. is now live at http://bit.ly/virtualLA.
