Visit Florida, the state tourism board, has launched the Florida Now page on its website,, to give visitors the latest information and resources for Hurricane Matthew. The page serves as the communication portal to assist people currently visiting, or planning to visit, with messages and real-time information provided by destination marketing organizations and local sources. The content on Florida Now is pulled from social media posts on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram, and aggregated using the hashtag #FloridaNow.

In light of the magnitude of the storm, which is expected to impact the state's east coast and result in evacuations, Visit Florida has activated its Emergency Accommodations Module to help travelers and residents find alternative accommodations if they are evacuated because of the storm; the lodging information also is accessible through the Florida Now page.
