CLIA Reports Record Cruise Passengers, 22 New Ships, in 2015
According to Cruise Lines International Association's new State of the Cruise Industry report, the organization is projecting strong growth for 2015. The findings show a record 23 million passengers are expected to sail this year; cruise lines are enticing travelers with nearly 1,000 ports of call in new exotic locations, especially in the fast-growing Asian market. CLIA-member cruise lines are scheduled to debut 22 new ocean, river and specialty ships in 2015. The organization currently is searching for a CEO, following former CEO Christine Duffy's move last month to Carnival Cruise Lines.
