Christine Duffy, the current CEO of Cruise Lines International Association, has been named president of Carnival Cruise Lines. She succeeds Gerry Cahill, who retired from the post last month, and will take over her new position Feb. 1. Before joining CLIA in 2010, Duffy was president and CEO of Maritz Travel, a specialist in corporate meeting, incentive and event travel. "Christine is one of the most respected and dynamic leaders in the travel industry," said Carnival Corp. CEO Arnold Donald in a statement. “She brings a wealth of experience to Carnival Cruise Lines that will help the cruise line continue to deliver unmatched vacation experiences to millions of guests each year.” Last month, Cindy D’Aoust, formerly COO of Meeting Professionals International, was named CLIA’s executive vice president of membership and operations. The organization also announced it would consolidate and relocate its headquarters to Washington, D.C., next month.
