Disney Cruise Line will add two ships to its fleet, one to be delivered in 2021 and the other in 2023. The ships, being built by Meyer Werft shipyard in Germany, will each have 1,250 staterooms and weigh 135,000 gross tons, slightly larger than the 130,000-gross-ton Dream-class ships, the Disney Dream and Disney Fantasy. At press time, names and itineraries for the new ships had not been announced. There currently are four vessels in Disney Cruise Line's fleet: the 1,250-stateroom Disney Dream, 1,250-stateroom Disney Fantasy, 877-stateroom Disney Magic and 877-stateroom Disney Wonder.
"We pride ourselves on the unforgettable vacation experiences we deliver to our guests each and every day, and the expansion of our Disney fleet will allow us to create even more magical memories for families at sea and in incredible cruise destinations around the world," said Disney chairman and CEO Robert Iger in a statement.
