According to a study conducted by the Destination Marketing Association International's empowerMINT initiative, more than half (54 percent) of the 280 planners polled struggle most to find a hotel that can provide the right space and configuration for their meetings' objectives and still meet the group's budget requirements. Other findings show that one in every three planners hopes to complete their search within four weeks; 68 percent depend heavily or exclusively on their own research to find hotels for their meetings and events; 52 percent would be most interested in securing honest/insider information on venues/localities from DMOs, and 42 percent want concrete recommendations tailored to the specific needs of their meetings.
