Corporate groups holding their events in the Latin America region now have a new resource to assist with a wide range of destination-management needs. A network of destination management companies, covering Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic and more, have combined forces to form LatinPlus DMC Group.

Launched at Northstar Meetings Group's SMU International this past weekend, the organization aims to deliver planners of meetings and incentives a valuable liaison for their Latin American events.

"LatinPlus is the first and only DMC network in Latin America, and it synergistically combines experienced industry leaders who have decades of experience planning incentives, meetings and corporate events in Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, Peru, the Dominican Republic and other key destinations in Latin America" said Patricia Perez-Sahin, founder and managing director of the group. Perez-Sahin is also managing partner of Synergy-Connect, a hospitality marketing organization based in Miami that is representing LatinPlus to the U.S. market.

The DMCs forming LatinPlus are:

  • Colombia en Colores, a full-service DMC based in Cartagena, Colombia, dedicated to providing creative and cultural experiences in Colombia. With close connections to all supplier partners, CEC "provides the highest level of quality service in all aspects of destination management," according to the organization.
  • Maritur, a DMC with more than 40 years' experience providing destination management services to corporate meetings and incentives in Cancún, Riviera Maya, Puerto Vallarta, Los Cabos, Acapulco and Mexico City. Maritur's programs are "custom designed to showcase the spectacular scenery and awe-inspiring sights of Mexico -- a country brimming with color, culture and hospitality," according to the DMC.
  • Vivaterra Group, with branches across South America, including a focus on luxury travel in Argentina, Brazil and Chile. The DMC's team customizes travel experiences for corporate groups coming in from all over the world.
